		<description>I just came across this post and it is does an excellent job of highlighting important issues in proposal development. Just curious- did you get the RC1? 
Working at a major university, I put in 6 RC1 applications. 5 of the applicants worked diligently.  One waited until last-minute, broke every &quot;rule&quot; of grant preparation, barely met the deadline-  and was the only one who was funded!  I guess it goes to show that no matter how hard you try, getting funded still comes down to having an innovative hypothesis and a great project idea!  
Aside: My background is in cognitive neuroscience and your blog is very interesting to me! Great work!
